Ultraviolette has announced a new manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, which will be known as the BIGGA Factory. This facility will initially produce the upcoming Tesseract scooter, before expanding to support a broader product portfolio. The annual capacity of the facility will be 2.5 lakh units, with infrastructure designed to handle up to 5 lakh units per year. The facility will be located at the SIPCOT Industrial Park in Shoolagiri, Hosur, with land facilitated by the Government of Tamil Nadu. The location was chosen due to its proximity to Ultraviolette's Bengaluru R&D operations and supplier network, as well as the established automotive ecosystem in the region. The facility will operate alongside Ultraviolette's existing Bengaluru facility, which will continue its current operations. The company has stated that the facility will utilize real-time production tracking, collaborative robots for sorting, welding, and assembly, and vision-based inspection systems. A dedicated on-site test track will also be used to evaluate every vehicle before dispatch. In addition to the factory announcement, Ultraviolette has shared a product roadmap image showing the silhouettes of two new products planned for 2027. One of these products appears to be a variant of the existing X47, while the other is a scooter with a distinctively rounded family-scooter-like profile. The direction of Ultraviolette's product roadmap is similar to that of other significant EV manufacturers currently targeting the mainstream scooter segment. Ather has recently launched the Konarc, Simple Energy has introduced the Wave family scooter range, while established players such as TVS, Bajaj, and Vida continue to see a majority of their EV sales volumes come from models like the iQube, Chetak, and Vida VX2. However, Ultraviolette has not shared any further information on the two new products, and the roadmap image remains the only indication of what may be coming.
