Editorial Policy

The Daily Pulse publishes news summaries based on reporting already published by established news organizations. This page explains how a story gets from a source publisher to our website.

Sourcing

Every story starts from a real, published report — never invented. The original publisher is credited and linked at the end of every story, and every publisher we draw from is also listed together on our Credits page.

Where possible, a story is corroborated against a second, independent source before publishing. When a story could only be confirmed from one source at publishing time, it is marked Unconfirmed on the site and re-checked automatically as further reporting comes in.

Writing

Summaries are written in original wording, not copied or closely paraphrased from the source article. Facts, figures, and quotes are only included when they genuinely appear in the source material — nothing is invented to make a summary read as more complete than the source actually supports.

Review

Stories go through an automated pre-publish check (originality, unsupported claims, category fit) and are also reviewed by our student editorial team on an ongoing rotation, from Editor-in-Chief down to Staff Writer.

Images

Images are used only when openly licensed (Wikipedia or Wikimedia Commons) and are always credited. We do not use a publisher's own photograph without a license, even when the story itself is credited to that publisher.
