James Bay performs with broken ankle at Bon Jovi gig

James Bay performed with a broken ankle during his warm-up set at Wembley Stadium for Bon Jovi on Wednesday. The Brit Award-winning singer-songwriter, born in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, had broken his ankle the day before. The 36-year-old had to perform while sitting down, with his left leg and ankle in a cast. In a caption on Instagram, the venue said the star had broken his ankle on Tuesday, but still supported Bon Jovi on Wednesday. Bon Jovi have been performing their Forever Tour at Wembley Stadium, with three sold-out shows on Friday, Sunday, and Wednesday. Singer Jon Bon Jovi has been reported to be visibly emotional on stage after recovering from throat surgery, which threatened his career in 2022. Concert-goers praised Bay on social media for still turning out for the gig after he was said to have suffered the injury while playing football. Bay rose to fame in 2014 after a video of him playing at a London open mic night led to him signing a record deal. Some of his best-known hits include Let it Go and Hold Back The River, with both on his set-list at Wembley. Bay was in good spirits at the concert despite his injury. In a separate social media post, Wembley Stadium said: Pain is temporary. Wembley is forever.
