Daayra, Vibe Get Adult Certificates; Kareena Kapoor Khan's Tenth Film Receives 'A' Rating

The year of adult films seems to be upon us. After a string of adult-rated releases, including Dhurandhar The Revenge, Mirzapur, Cocktail 2, Batwara 1947, O'Romeo, Assi, and Bandar, two big Hindi releases next week have also received an 'A' rating from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).Daayra, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran, was passed on September 11 by the CBFC with an 'A' rating. The film's length is 143 minutes and 16 seconds, making it a 2-hour and 23-minute film. Investigative thriller Daayra is directed by Meghna Gulzar and marks Kareena Kapoor Khan's tenth film for adults only. Her previous nine films include Ajnabee, Chameli, Dev, Omkara, Kurbaan, Heroine, Udta Punjab, Veere Di Wedding, and The Buckingham Murders. Meanwhile, Vibe, starring Kunal Kemmu, also received an 'adults only' rating from the Censor Board. Vibe's length is 145 minutes and 55 seconds, making it a 2-hour and 25-minute film. Vibe is the second film of Preity G Zinta after her comeback. Her previous film, Batwara 1947, was released last month and received an 'A' rating. An industry insider noted that Daayra's 'A' rating is understandable given its mature theme, while Vibe's adult certification may come as a surprise due to its seemingly family-friendly content. Both films are set to release in cinemas on September 18.
